Question : Can we give Civil Service Exam (IAS Exam) Interview in Hindi ?
Answer : Yes, candidates can give the interview in whatever language they feel comfortable. The most important thing is the expression. You can't secure marks if you can't express the concept or your thoughts to the UPSC Interviewers.
UPSC does not want BPO person who speaks english very fluently. Person working in BPO only have the speaking quality but UPSC takes a candidate who can administrate the society.
In simple terms, when you go to rural villages, what you will do ? Will you speak in English with them ? Will you express your opinion in English ? they will hardly get any idea. Rather, when you speak hindi, they will judge you and listen you carefully.
On the whole : HINDI is our Rajbhasha. It's not like if you give interview in Hindi, you will not get marks OR you will be ranked lower. there is nothing like this at all.
